Top interior design trends to watch in 2024

Now that we’ve well and truly settled into the new year, it’s time to explore the exciting trends that our consultants have been noticing shaping the 2024 interior design world. At MyChoice Design Studio, we’re passionate about creating spaces within your new home build that reflect your unique personality and lifestyle. So, lets dive into the hottest trends for 2024 and help you design a home that is a haven for comfort and style.

Nature’s Embrace

Biophilia, the love of nature, continues to reign supreme in 2024. A prominent trend in the interior design world for the past few years, adding an organic touch to your home has been inspired by earthy and neutral tones of the outside world, lush greenery, feminine shapes and comforting curves.

The Organic style prominently sits within the Urban style; however, this doesn’t mean that elements of this style doesn’t complement our other five (5) core styles, in particular, our most popular Coastal style.

Be inspired by the McDonald Jones Homes Panorama 33 on display at HomeWorld Leppington. A Modern Coastal inspired home filled with gorgeous curvaceous rattan furniture, oval shaped mirrors, and statement archways, plus, natural light filled spaces which easily embrace the great outdoors surrounding your new home build.

Maximalism makes a comeback

In 2024 we’re adopting a bolder approach. It’s time to embrace maximalism by layering textures, patterns, and colours, and experiment with statement artwork, eclectic furniture, and bold wallpapers or feature walls, to create a space that reflects your style and individuality.

Be inspired by the open plan living area in the Brighton Homes Monterey 37 on display at Springfield Rise, Spring Mountain. This Global look home features terracotta finish tiles, Moroccan themed rug and soft furnishings, and show stopping statement wallpaper - the main ingredient in tying the whole space together.

Sustainable Living

The rise of eco-consciousness continues into 2024, particularly with the introduction of the National Construction Codes 7-star energy rating requirement for all new home builds. Inclusions such as solar panels, greywater recycling systems and energy-efficient appliances when completing your Selection appointments will help you achieve the heights star rating for you, and your family.

Interiors will also be making the most of natural lighting and the use of shading and ventilation to reduce the need for heating and cooling.
