What we expect to see in 2023!

2022 saw the rise of organic styling and creating that connection to nature. Our home designs were filled with earthy and neutral tones and furnished with feminine shapes and comforting curves. As we start to wrap up the first month of the new year, here is what we are starting to see come through already in the beautiful world of interior design.

Statement Lighting

This year we expect to see more elaborate statement-inspired lamp shades and shapes. Seen as more a piece of art rather than just simply providing light to a space, statement lighting pieces don’t just have to be a table or floor lamp.

Statement lighting pieces don’t just have to be a floor or table lamp?? Repeated above. Create interest above your dining table or Kitchen bench or if you want to make a statement but don’t want to go too bold why not try wall sconces in your bathroom or bedroom.

MOJO Homes Oasis 41 on display at Hereford Hill - Lochinvar features two conical shaped pendants, with wooden finish to create a stunning centre piece above the dining table and projecting an element of nature.

Merging the inside with the outside

As we seek to embrace nature and the outside world it is becoming more common for our outdoor spaces to be integrated into our homes.

Think seamless transitions made through bi-fold doors and large window spaces and natural materials & textural tones that continue to flow out into your alfresco area.

McDonald Jones Hermitage Grand Manor on display at Box Hill beautifully combines the indoors with the outdoors by creating an entertainer’s delight. Picture yourself stepping out from the gourmet kitchen into the perfect alfresco dining area where the Luxe Parisian styling effortlessly continues.

Neutral Tones

In 2022 we saw an influx of natural materials and earth inspired colours take precedence in our homes. We will continue to see this trend throughout 2023. Think terracotta, burnt oranges, neutral browns, and lush greens. Pair these with subtle wallpapers and textiles such as bamboo, cork, cotton, and wool.

Brighton Homes Lotus on display at Redland Bay incorporates beautiful terracotta tones throughout the home through décor, wallpaper, furnishings and tiling throughout the home.

Sustainability

As sustainability becomes more important to homeowners, we expect to see a rise in demand for eco-friendly features throughout the home. Think solar panels, green roofs, greywater recycling systems, and energy-efficient appliances.

Our interiors will also be making the most of natural light and the use of shading and ventilation to reduce the need for heating and cooling.

Pantone Colour of the Year: Viva Magenta

Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Viva Magenta 18-1750, encapsulates passion, strength, and fearlessness. A shade rooted in nature and part of the red family. It encourages self-expression and is a statement colour exuding a zest for life. Will you incorporate this year’s colour into your interior design selections?

We cannot wait to help you design your dream home this year at your Centre of Style.
