Predicted Interior Design Trends 2025

We recently sat down with our team at MyChoice Design Studio and discussed what interior design trends we’re predicting to see in 2025.

Reflecting on last year, we saw interior spaces prioritise comfort, relaxation, and quiet luxury. In 2025, we can only see this evolving further by blending everyday comforts with patterns, colour and other elements to make our homes even more unique and personal.

So, what are you waiting for? Let’s delve into our teams 2025 predictions.

Colour Drenching

Colour drenching is the practice of covering every surface in a space in the same colour – be it walls, window frames, ceilings, doors, and even soft furnishings to create a unified aesthetic.

For larger spaces, think warm and sophisticated tones whilst primary shades such as blue, yellow, and red make playful statements in smaller areas such as powder rooms or laundries.

Be inspired by the Home Theatre space in the McDonald Jones Homes San Marino Executive on display at Braemar. Awash in olive-green and paired with warm timbers and creamy linens, this is one sophisticated Farmhouse styled space.

70’s Cool

Step back in time to a style rich in earthy tones, terrazzo tiles and kitschy patterns that reigned supreme in the 70’s - a unique style that boasts individualism.

For so long now we have been in a neutral era, made up of whites, greys, beiges and blacks. Whilst these monochrome tones offered stability and timelessness, it seems to have created a feeling of stagnation. By moving towards the colourful interiors inspired by the 70’s, we see a renewed level of enthusiasm injected into our homes once again.

Fall in love with the Mid-Century Modern styled Brighton Homes Monterey 37 on display at SkyRidge, Worongary. A standout feature is the master suite complete with warm timber VJ panelling feature wall, and terrazzo look floor and wall tiles in the ensuite, that spin a modern twist on a 70s look.

Home Wellness Spaces

With a growing emphasis on personal health and wellbeing, dedicated wellness spaces are becoming more prominent within our homes.

Whether it be personal yoga studio or resort spa-like bathroom, these spaces boast natural light, calming spaces and love an indoor plant or two for an overall relaxing space.

Be inspired by the home Pilates studio in the MOJO Homes Symphony 35 on display at HomeWorld Thornton. This unique neutral-coloured space opens out onto the large alfresco area allowing natural light and fresh air to flow through.

Pantone Colour of the Year: Mocha Mousse

Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Mocha Mousse 17-1230 creates a warm and inviting ambience. A desirable shade of brown that creates experiences that boost personal comfort and wellness, from chocolate sweet treats and coffee aromas, to walks amongst the Australian landscape.

Read last month’s blog for more inspiration on how you can incorporate this year’s Mocha Mousse shade into your interiors.
